THE SILHOUETTE

I wake and wipe the sleep from my eyes
Through blurred vision I see your silhouette
Standing in the open balcony doorway
Soft tufts of hair bouncing in the breeze
Morning sunlight glimmers
Off the bulge of your chest
casting even larger shadows
on the bedroom floor.
I stretch and rise, and sitting tall in my bed
Feeling the gentle morning breeze caress my face
While songbirds sing their morning serenade
Your scent fills my senses
Oh how it lights my soul with desire
How I long for you to hold me
How I need to feel your touch
How I need to hear your voice calling out my name
While gentle arms hold me close to your beating heart
I step from my bed
And turn to face the world
Anticipating the delight
Of yet another glimpse of your form
But the door stands vacant
Curtains blowing soft and free in the breeze
How empty is my heart, how lonely is my soul
For these shadows, these illusions of you
Now swept away without a sound
Are those I hold only in memory
Gathered long before you and I did part

Location is Bandhavgarh Jungle of Madhya Pradesh in March………. The tree is a victim of Killer Viper Tree. The specialty of Killer Viper tree is, it kills trees by climbing on them. It’s a villain of jungle & green world.

 Wow! Mouthwatering “Rassagulla’s”. There is this particular place called “PAHALA” In Orissa where they prepare amazing rassagulla. Anyone who has ever got a chance to travel from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar must have at least once stopped to have it….. To know the difference in taste between the generally available rassagula’s & this one you will have to have it once…………

This is one of those pictures which I clicked on my trip to the Fort in Bandhavgarh. In this picture the cave is the nest of Serpent Eagle and there is a newborn inside. The guide provided us with quite a lot of information about the nature of this bird Since they are scavengers they help in cleaning the jungle of all the rotten and dead stuff without delay. The first few days of the young ones after hatching are spent under the protection of the parents. The feathers start appearing after 21 days. By one month, almost the whole body of the chicks gets covered with feathers and they are able to stand independently. The first flight is taken only after crossing two months of age. Crested Serpent Eagle is a solitary creature, found occupying the same territorial boundaries for years.
